System Design Engagements

I partner with institutions and leadership teams navigating complex design challenges. My work focuses on building durable structures that enable organizations to operate with greater clarity, alignment, and measurable capability over time. Rather than delivering packaged solutions, I guide teams through disciplined design processes that surface internal expertise, clarify system constraints, and translate strategy into operational models.

Experiential Learning Architecture

For universities, districts, and ministries seeking to strengthen project-based and real-world learning systems. Engagements may include:

  • Structured internship, capstone, and project-based learning design or redesign

  • Integration of engineering and human-centered design processes

  • Structured assessment architecture

  • Faculty/leader capacity development

  • AI integration into the design and student experience

  • Scalable experiential program models

Work results in documented frameworks, implementation roadmaps, and internal design capability that can be sustained and adapted independently.

Workforce & Capability Systems Design

For institutions and organizations aligning education with real-world performance outcomes. Engagements may include:

  • Competency and skill framework alignment

  • Crosswalk development across institutional systems

  • Leave-behind tools for continuing the work

  • Translation of strategic goals into operational learning architecture

The focus is not simply on defining skills, but on designing systems that make those skills visible, measurable, and transferable.

Institutional Design Sprints

For leadership teams facing ambiguous or high-stakes challenges that require clarity and rapid iteration. Engagements may include:

  • Structured multi-stakeholder design processes

  • Rapid prototyping of new program models

  • Redesign under constraint or disruption

  • Strategic reframing of complex institutional challenges

These engagements are intensive and collaborative, designed to move teams from ambiguity to actionable architecture.

Leadership Through Design

Across all engagements, I work alongside leaders to strengthen their ability to think systemically, iterate responsibly, and guide their teams through structured design processes. The goal is not dependency. The goal is increased internal capacity - leaders and teams equipped to continue designing and refining their own systems long after the engagement concludes.

Representative Experience

  • Led the design and scaling of engineering capstone architecture across Egypt in a new national STEM school network in partnership with Egypt’s Ministry of Education.

  • Designed and launched a 102-student, multi-time-zone virtual consulting infrastructure within 21 days during pandemic disruption that became a signature university program.

  • Directed advanced R&D programs in photonics and microfabrication, managing laboratories, multidisciplinary teams, and intellectual property strategy.

Who I Work Best With

I work best with institutions and leadership teams prepared to engage deeply in structured design work and committed to building long-term capability rather than short-term fixes.
